Spring growth at Henmans with new senior hires
29 April 2008
Henmans is expanding two of its larger departments still further with lateral partner hires into its property and private client teams.
Paul Thompson joins the private client team as a partner on 7 April. Paul was formerly a partner at Lodders in Stratford-upon-Avon. He specialises in tax planning, trusts and complex wills designed to minimise exposure to capital gains and inheritance taxes. Paul trained at Gotelee & Goldsmith in Suffolk and qualified in 1996. Nigel Roots, head of the private client team at Henmans, commented, “Paul’s skills and experience will be an extremely welcome addition to our team of highly experienced trust and tax planners. Our clients frequently have complex estates in many jurisdictions and require expert advice to ensure their affairs are arranged for maximum benefit.”
Lesley Pollock joins the property team as a commercial property partner in June. Lesley joins Henmans from EMW Law in Milton Keynes, where she was also a partner. Lesley trained at Abels in Southampton and qualified in 1980, then worked at Denton Wilde Sapte and Irwin Mitchell before joining EMW. Richard Shallard, senior partner and head of commercial property, commented, “Lesley’s appointment comes at an excellent time for the practice – we have the largest property team in Oxford and are still expanding. The property market in Oxfordshire is diverse and growing, and our team is growing to match it.”
Julia Iball, managing partner, added, “These appointments are part of the firm’s planned expansion. We seek to be the largest and best firm in the area and our continued growth indicates our commitment to this.”
