Family
We wish to recruit an assistant solicitor as part of the continued development of our family department, to supplement the current team and to exploit the opportunities available.
The department offers clients the full range of options to resolve their relationship issues through the normal court process, mediation and collaborative practice, as well as dealing with children matters, pre-nuptial agreements, civil partnerships, etc. We wish to build on the strengths already offered in the department by bringing in a candidate with relevant experience in these areas and a particular interest in mediation would be useful.
The successful candidate is likely to be highly motivated and likely to have at least 5-6 years PQE. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills are also necessary, as well as relishing the challenges of delivering a high quality service and being involved in the marketing and development of the department. Knowledge of the local market and contacts would be beneficial. A client following would be advantageous but not essential.
Private client/charities
An enthusiastic and highly motivated assistant solicitor is required for the continued expansion of this specialist team of 16 lawyers. The successful candidate, who will probably have around 1-2 years PQE will be assisting a partner in this very busy department, dealing with high value trusts, capital tax planning and complex probate work. With a highly motivated and outgoing disposition, there are excellent prospects for the right candidate.
Corporate/commercial
We wish to make a senior appointment as part of the continued development of our corporate/commercial team, to exploit the opportunities available.
The role involves handling primarily corporate transactions, in a busy department with a good flow of deals and being a "trusted adviser" to a wide range of SME owners. Clients range from UK operations of multinational groups to early stage entrepreneurial companies. There is a strong ethos of knowledge sharing in the Department and a great team spirit.
The successful highly motivated candidate is likely to have at least 6-8 years PQE and would be expected to have strong interpersonal skills, excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills and relish the challenges of delivering a high quality service, as well as being involved in the marketing, development and management of the department. A client following would be advantageous.
Charities team
An ambitious solicitor is required for the non contentious charities team. A finalist in the STEP Charity Team of the Year Awards, the practice is recognised as one of the leading firms in the charity sector. Our clients include many of the top 50 charities. The successful applicant will be also be responsible for supervising junior members of the team in providing a range of legal services to the charity sector including constitutional advice and support to the corporate and property teams. The work is varied and challenging.
Joining an expanding team of dedicated individuals the successful candidate will have a proven ability working in a private client or corporate environment and will have strong experience of working with charity clients. The STEP qualification or a willingness to work towards it is required.
A commitment to business development is essential. This is an exciting opportunity with good prospects for the right candidate.
