Henmans auction for Children In Need raises over £2,000

21 November 2007

Henmans has once again organised a charity auction for Children in Need thanks to the generosity of local businesses. The auction and other fundraising activities raised over £2,000 from Henmans staff.

Prizes were donated by many Oxford and Woodstock companies, including theatre tickets from the Oxford Playhouse, hairdressing vouchers from Mahogany and Paul Kay, beauty treatment vouchers from Mimimi and Heavenly Bodies, dinners for two at the Oxford Spires, the Institute of Directors, the Feathers in Woodstock and Eynsham Hall, a stay at the Bear in Woodstock, a round of golf at the North Oxfordshire Golf Club and even tickets for children to vist Father Christmas at Wyevale Garden Centre, Bicester.

Prizes were also donated by Henmans's staff, including a week at a beautiful cottage in Devon, champagne and hampers and a tour of the Oxford chilterns by mountain-bike. Some staff also donated services including gardening and bike servicing!

Angela Bowman, the partner who organised the auction, commented, “It’s fantastic that so many local businesses are willing to make such generous donations, and it’s incredibly exciting to watch the auctions as people get into the spirit and the money really starts flowing in. It’s great to be able to do something for such a worthwhile charity.”
